Back To The Beach

Written and Illustrated by Mo MacPhail

ISBN-13: 978-1504376020

Back to the Beach chronicles a necessary going-back journey to a favorite place that helps us to move forward in an ever-changing world.

There’s a particular saying out there that states, you can never go back. However in my heart I know this is not true. For there is a place we can always go back to. It is a magical mystical place we are invited to return again and again in order to move forward. It is the place where repeated visits bring us back to the knowing and essence of why we are here. In our family we have many of these back to places, but our favorite “Back To” place is a beach at Sandy Neck, in Cape Cod Massachusetts, where the smell of its salt water calls a soul back to life. This book chronicles memories from our beach as they propel us forward to live lives with purpose and promise.  My hope is that upon reading this book, a “Back To“ journey will begin for you.

Little Blue

By Mo MacPhail

ISBN-13: 978-1504381864

Drawn in by the cries of a mama blue jay trying to stave off a feral cat ready to attack her baby, Katie and her sister come to the rescue. They find Little Blue under a tree, trying to jump in the air back to his nest. What unfolds next is a story of love, dedication, and fighting the good fight.

I wrote this story because of my mom. After many spirited conversations we would often end our talks saying we should write a book. She would say, “You know what story you should write - the story about the little blue jay you rescued.”

So I did. And the best part of this book is that I got to read the story to my mother shortly before she passed.  Also, just after it was officially published, a blue jay family started showing up in our back yard.  Moments like these let me know I am on the right path.
